FTP to Lake Superior Port Cities Inc.
About FTP
FTP stands for “File Transfer Protocol,” and is a
standard way to manage large-sized files between local and remote
computers through the Internet. If you maintain a Website, need to send
a large file to a friend who has FTP access active on his computer or
want to download an update or file from an FTP site, you will need FTP
software.
If you need FTP Software
In order to FTP you will need software. On the Mac side there are
several possibilities including Fetch, but we recommend for ease and
friendliness Transmit 2. You can download a trial version in order to
FTP to us.
Mac
www.panic.com/transmit/
Transmit 3.6.3.dmg (18.9 MB).
Requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher. (Still using Mac OS 9? Download Transmit 1.7.sit)
You have 15 days to test Transmit with no features disabled. After 15
days, Transmit will limit your sessions to 10 minutes at a time.
Windows
On the PC we recommend for Windows WS_FTP Professional, but they also
have a WS-FTP Home and Server version. All have trial (30-day) versions.

The file download is about 6 mb. The cost of the home version is $35.
This operates almost exactly like the Transmit in terms of easily transferring a file from the left to a window on the right.
Transferring Your Files
Once you have the software, take your files and place them into a
locatable folder on your computer. That folder then needs to be transferred (copied) to our FTP
site. Please name the folder clearly and uniquely: client name, issue to be used in
(example: "Bluefin Bay, Aug./Sep. 2008" or "Bluefin_AS08").
Uploading to Us
Use of our FTP Site is simple. You just need to connect to the site,
fill in the account & password, making sure you enter it “cAsE
SenSITivE.” Here is our FTP site Information:
