Ice cover climbs past 90 percent
Lake Superior's ice cover nearly doubled after a week of frigid temperatures and reached nearly 92 percent on Friday. Only the deepest part of the Lake, north of Munising, Michigan, remains free of ice.
Cumulative ice coverage on the Great Lakes is now 80.9 percent.
