Bayfield Winter Festival, a fundraiser for Bayfield Area Recreation Center and Mount Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area, includes First Friday and the Outdoor Deck Party at Bayfield Inn, with stores offering refreshments, activities and promotions. Run on Water is a race to Madeline Island on the Ice Road, as participants run, walk, snowshoe, skate, ski, you name it, if it's not motorized, at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Polar Bear Plunge is at 3 p.m., with plunges and costumes judged. Mount Ashwabay Winterfest Bash will have night tubing and skiing, live music, food and bonfire, Visit mtashwabay.org for ski hill information.
