Superior Vistas Bike Tour
to
Thompson's West End Park West Loop Road, Washburn, Wisconsin
Superior Vistas Bike Tour is a family-oriented ride, not a race, that allows you to cruise gently rolling hills with views of Lake Superior and the surrounding forest and countryside. This a fully supported ride with route map, support vehicles and food and beverage stops. Some routes overlap so you can decide to shorten or lengthen your ride as you wish. The 13-mile route is hilly, but children as young as 10 years old have completed it. The 19- and 34-mile loops include a rest stop at beautiful Long Lake. Pack your swim suit and small towel, then take a dip before continuing on. The 40-mile out-and-back tour includes five fully stocked rest stops. The 52-, 70- and 100-mile loops overlap and host rest stops to satisfy energy and hydration needs. These routes take riders on 20 miles of some of the smoothest, sweetest blacktop in Northern Wisconsin through the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest and the famed Moquah Barrens. Register online or by mail, or there's same-day registration at Thompson’s West End Park in Washburn from 7 to 9 a.m. For more information, go to www.superiorvistas.org, or contact the Ashland Chamber of Commerce at 715-682-2500 or 800-284-9484.
