SPJ Awards Presented to LSM Recipients
 The first ever Society of Professional Journalists Page One Awards to be won by Lake Superior Magazine
were presented on Friday, June 5, 2009, by editor Konnie LeMay to
contributing writer Ann Treacy and the magazine’s art director Randy
Bauer. The Page One Awards are held each year in the Twin Cities
by the local professional chapter of SPJ. In its first year of entry, Lake Superior Magazine won two awards in the journalism society’s prestigeous competition.
Both Treacy and Bauer said they were honored to receive
the Story, Design and Photography awards. Treacy won the second
place for the Best Department. Bauer won second place for Best
Feature Design.
