Duluth, Minnesota - November 21, 2003
Roberta Baker, who helped to design the transformation of Lake Superior Magazine from its original title of Lake Superior Port Cities, has rejoined the magazine’s staff just in time to help plan for its 25th anniversary year in 2004.
Baker of Duluth has taken the position of Art Director. The
current issue, December/January 2004, reflects her design inspirations.
Baker first designed the magazine from about 1982 to 1987 and then went
to work in the art department of the publishing company Advanstar
Communications for 17 years. She had been an art teacher and had worked
in advertising previous to her experience at Lake Superior Magazine.
In hiring Baker, Lake Superior Magazine increased its
art and production staff. Former art director Mathew Pawlak, whose
designs recently earned a Gold award for Best Overall Design, continues
part time with the magazine as Production Manager while also pursuing
teaching and graphics opportunities closer to his home near Webster,
Wisconsin.
In returning at this time, Baker will join Publisher Cindy
Hayden, Associate Publisher Paul Hayden and Editor Konnie LeMay in
planning the special issues and projects to celebrate Lake Superior Magazine’s 25th year of publishing in 2004.
Lake Superior Magazine, a full-color consumer
publication, is printed six times a year in Duluth, Minnesota. The
magazine is available by subscription, at newsstands and from the
publisher's office at 325 Lake Avenue South, Suite 600, Duluth,
Minnesota 55802. For more information, call 888-BIG LAKE (244-5253). www.lakesuperior.com/
