A LETTER TO THE "EDITOR,"
SEALED WITH A LICK
Dear Huckleberry,
A few weeks ago I was in the Twin Ports visiting my Grandpa
Gordo on his boat Wave Dancer moored at Barkers Island Marina and
while pawing through the Nov. issue of Lake Superior Magazine I
came upon your article and picture.
Huckleberry, believe me when I say your picture sent shivers
up and down my spine. You're my idea of the perfect male Sheltie - sophisticated,
well educated and endowed with a love of the water and of nature that I
find irresistible.
In my 11 years, I've never before written to a boy Sheltie,
but I was so taken by your beauty and sensitivity that I felt I must take
pen in paw and write to you.
I hope I'm not being too brazen, but I was wondering if
perhaps next summer you might be out cruising with your folks or Grandpa
and Grandma Jim and Jan on Skipper Sam II and perhaps we could meet
and you and I could take a quiet walk on the shore of beautiful Lake Superior?
What a thrill it would be for me to be squired about by
one with such charm, wit and canine masculinity.
Hoping to hear from you soon, Huckleberry.
Yours truly,
Natasha
P.S. I'm enclosing a picture of myself when I was a bit
younger, but I'm sure you understand how we girl Shelties are about our
age.
Admiring
his admirer, Huck has to admit
that his heart is somewhat aflutter, too.
Natasha, you are welcome to visit us anytime here in the office. I look
forward to that stroll.
