Annual Photography Contest Winners

Our second annual Lake Superior Magazine photo contest attacted more than 630 photos from 122 amateur photographers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Although the entrants list themselves as amateurs, our three judges found that the quality of the images many of them produce place them well above the ranks of competency, as witnessed by the winners shown in these pictures.

Merchandise prizes are compliments of cosponsors Don Martens and Mike Mennes at First Photo, Duluth, Minnesota. All of our top winners also receive complimentary Lake Superior Magazine mugs. Our Grand Prize winner wins Minolta 8x30 wide angle binocluars plus six rolls of Fujicolor film. First place winner in color and black-and-white catelgories win Seabring camera bags and two rolls of Fujicolor (color winner) or Ilford B&W film. Second prize winners in each category win their choice of a Kodak Workshop Series photography book.
