For the judges of our fourth annual Lake Superior Magazine photo contest it was good news and bad news this year: The good news was that quality ran high among the 570 images from the 107 entrants; the bad news was they had to whittle those images down to the mere handful that would earn the grand prize, first and second places or honorable mentions. Their final choices reflect the beauty and variety found around Lake Superior's shores. All of the entries show a fine eye for the wonders of life around the Inland Sea. |

First Photo of Duluth, Minnesota, again joins with Lake Superior Magazine to offer prizes. All of our top winners also receive complimentary Lake Superior Magazine mugs. Our Grand Prize winner receives a Nikon Vestrap Photo Vest valued at $110 and an Original Duluth Pack standard day pack valued at $57. First place winner in the Color Category wins an Op/Tech Pro Strap camera strap and a Bogen 3006 ultra light monopod, for a total value of $45. First prize in the Black-and-White Category is a 100-sheet box of Ilford Multigrade® IV RC Deluxe 8x10 paper valued at $57. Second prizes in each category are a choice of Kodak Workshop Series photography books.Our thanks to all entrants and congratulations to the winners.
