Lake Superior
9th Annual Photo Contest

The Winners

Brett Deacon’s Grand Prize photo evokes the beauty of Minnesota’s North Shore with an emotional blending of a sunlit foreground and the slow burning off of morning mist in the distance. Strong color sets off the rocks and trees. This prize earns a $250 award that includes a regional travel package.

The lush depth of color and the captured fresh “feel” of the rushing water with a peaceful, cooling mood of Jack Shearer’s First Place winner impressed the judges. This prize receives a $150 prize that includes a Lake Superior Collection gift certificate.

Deceptively simple in composition, Leah Eder’s Second Place photo reveals a close-up of wildlife with great clarity and a rare opportunity to view a beautiful creature in its natural setting.
