Lake
scenes, people, animals and inland waterways represent the broad
variety of what one finds around Lake Superior. In judging the nearly
1,200 images entered into this year’s photo contest, all of those
things and more found their way into the images of visitors to and
residents in the lake region.
This year’s Grand Prize winner receives a $200 travel package along with a one-year subscription to Lake Superior Magazine
and a 2007 Lake Superior calendar. The combined whimsy and technical
clarity of Kirsten Anderson Clouse’s image, “Curiosity,” captured the
judges’ hearts and kudos.
First Place earns a $50 Lake Superior Collection certificate
along with the calendar and subscription. It was the beauty of place,
time and a good photographic eye with “Early Snow at Alger Falls” that
earned Diana LeVasseur the honor.
Second Place receives a subscription and the 2007 calendar.
The technical quality of a difficult shot coupled with the
well-captured familiar mood of Lake Superior got the award for Terry
Lamb and his “Out of the Fog.”
