Lake
Superior is not just a body of water holding 10 percent of the world’s
surface fresh water. For those of us who live and work around the Big
Lake, it is our force of nature. It bends our plans by changing the
weather, it molds our perspectives with its endless horizons and its
lapping waters. For some, it is the very means of our livelihood:
maritime workers, commercial fishermen, those whose heavy industries
require plentiful water and those whose tourism-related businesses
depend on its magnetism.
