Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra: "Dramatic Passions"
to
Symphony Hall 350 Harbor Dr., Duluth, Minnesota 55802
In "Dramatic Passions," the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra will present Schubert's Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished"; Leshnoff's Violin Concerto, with guest Charles Wetherbee, violin; and Schumann's Symphony No. 3 "Rhenish." The two completed movements of what may have been intended as a four-movement symphony has become one of Schubert's most performed works. Jonathan Leshnoff is quickly establishing himself as one of America's most gifted composers. Schumann's "Rhenish" was modeled after Beethoven's 3rd and 6th. Arrive early and join host William Bastian for Behind the Music at 7 p.m. in the main hall before the concert. Also, the School Spotlight features a performance by Marshall High School, performing in the lobby prior to the concert. For more Information, go to dsso.com, or call 218-623-DSSO (3776).
