"Federal Reserve 101: A Town Hall Meeting"

Dr. Narayana Kocherlakota, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, will present "Federal Reserve 101: A Town Hall Meeting," as part of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics 2012-2013 Distinguished Speaker Series at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at UMD's Weber Music Hall. This event is free and open to the public, however those planning on attending are asked to register online at lsbe.d.umn.edu, or call 218-726-6696 to register by phone. Dr. Kocherlakota's presentation is meant to be a primer for the general public on the role of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis in a question and answer format. Kocherlakota serves on the Federal Open Market Committee with the 12 additional presidents of the Federal Reserve Banks, who meet every six to eight weeks in Washington, D.C., to determine monetary policy for the nation. Previously, Kocherlakota was employed by the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, as a professor and chairman of the Department of Economics. For more information, go to lsbe.d.umn.edu.
