Lake Superior Marine Museum & Maritime Visitor Center 600 South Lake Avenue, Duluth, Minnesota 55802
Captain Sherman Edwards presents “It Sunk – House Lost Throughthe Ice,” about a seven-room house with furniture and furnishings that went through the ice of Lake Superior as it was being towed from Port Superior to Madeline Island. The 6-wheel drive tractor that was pulling the house sank shortly after the house first broke through the ice. All landed on the bottom of the lake in roughly 70 feet of water. Join Sherman as he retells the series of events including the spring dive to the bottom of the lake to access the house as well as to attempt salvage. The free program is sponsored by the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) and the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center, as part of their Evening Entertainment Series. The presentation will run from 7-9 p.m. in the Visitor Center’s lower level lecture hall, 600 South Lake Avenue in Canal Park in Duluth. For more Information, visit www.lsmma.com or call 218 727-2497.
