PROGRAM ON 1918 FIRE VICTIMS AT CLOQUET MUSEUM
The Carlton County Historical Society will host a program by Dave Johnson about Superior, Wisconsin's role in aiding victims of the 1918 fire at its museum in Cloquet on Thursday, November 8, at 1 p.m.
Johnson, representing the Douglas County Genealogy Club, is a retired Superior firefighter who has been active in Superior's Old Firehouse and Police Museum. His program tells the story of Superior's help in assisting and housing 1918 fire refugees who arrived by train from burned out areas in northern Minnesota.
After Johnson's program, refreshments will be served. Regular admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information contact the museum at 218-879-1938.
