'Water Wars' Author Peter Annin to Speak in Ashland

Peter Annin, author of the "Great Lakes Water Wars" and veteran environmental journalist, will speak in the Alvord Theatre at Northland College. Annin visits Northland to discuss the role politics plays in addressing threats to freshwater and the Great Lakes. Annin will cover political conversations aimed at diverting water from the Great Lakes and efforts to address invasive species in the Great Lakes. The event, another offering in the Northland College Community Connections series, is free and open to the public. Peter's nonfiction book, "Great Lakes Water Wars," chronicles efforts to preserve freshwater and investigates what may transpire if water is diverted from the Great Lakes.
