Book Across the Bay

The annual Book Across the Bay is open to skiers and snowshoers of all ages and abilities. The 10-kilometre course is groomed for both classic-style and skate skiing, and runs from Ashland to Washburn, following a route over the frozen surface of Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. The event takes place at night, but the course is lit up by the stars above and by up to 1,000 candles in ice luminaries that line the entire route. The event starts at 6 p.m.
