Calumet Theatre presents: Eyes of Alice
This show is a stunning visual, theatrical and musical recreation of the world’s most infamous and beloved shock rock entertainer – Alice Cooper. The band arrives in Calumet on Friday, October 27 to begin setting the stage for the sets and props to create the theatrics of the songs and acting made famous by Alice Cooper and his performers.
Eyes of Alice features a versatile and robust group of musicians and performers. This tribute experience is highlighted by Robby Cooper’s uncanny portrayal of the dark and witty Alice. The Canadian born lead vocalist, Robby Cooper, no relation to Alice, has been performing as Alice in the Tribute Experience for over 14 years. He has spent countless hours perfecting an impersonation of Alice Cooper.
“I watch the concert videos, pay attention to what he does on stage, analyze his dance moves, his interaction with the audience, the hand gestures and the facial expressions,” says Cooper. “I really do my homework and my philosophy has always been that if I want the crowd to believe, then I have to believe.” Cooper says when he gets on stage he lets the character take over. “The second that the costume is on and that last stroke of makeup goes on, I am Alice,” he says. “You cannot and will not convince me otherwise.”
Robby has developed a worldwide fan base and is considered one of the top Alice Cooper impersonators in North America. Band members have all played on the circuit for over 20 years - each performing in tribute acts from the Guess Who to Kiss to Motley Crue to original touring acts. Band members are: Jason Ardell (aka Json) on guitar, vocals; Dave Coupland (aka Studebaker Hock) on guitar, vocals; Rick Ottenbrite (aka Tyrone Shoelaces) on bass, vocals; and Gary Robinson (aka Zander Nazz) on drums and vocals.
This Canadian band has been playing countrywide to mesmerized audiences for years and have now begun to take over the U.S. with a full recreation of Cooper’s live show. This act will leave the audience not sure if they saw a tribute or the real thing.
The prop filled Calumet Theatre stage will have everything from clowns, nurses, monsters, and spiders to great harmonies and instrumentation. Eyes of Alice plays all the hits you know and love: I'm Eighteen, No More Mr. Nice Guy,School’s Out, Poison, Billion Dollar Babies, Hey Stoopid, Feed My Frankenstein, Welcome to My Nightmare and more!
You’ll be amazed as the cast and crew bring the characters of favorite songs to life. This group is sure to entertain! What better weekend to present such a concert as this one then on Halloween weekend. This event is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the MCACA and the Crane Group.
