Chick-uamegon

Held in conjunction with the Garland City Women's Expo, the Chick-uamegon is a lighthearted women's 5K/10K walk/run set for Saturday, Nov. 7. The start/finish line is at Ashland's Central Railyard Park behind the Bretting Community Center. Finishers each receive a tiara and medal, plus there will be prizes for the top three participants wearing the most outlandish “blingest best” outfits imaginable.

New this year is the Chick-uamegon Ball on Saturday night complete with fantastic music and a thrilling light show by JD Bass Entertainment! Put on a vintage prom dress or retro gown and dance the night away starting at 8 p.m. at The Alley, 806 W. Main St., in downtown Ashland.

Starting at 10 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m., the women's expo offers shopping, pampering, plenty of food and oodles of fun, along with free admission and door prizes. And there's much more going on during this festive fall weekend, including the Big Water Film Festival and WITC's Harvest to Holiday Vendor & Craft Fair.

In addition, take advantage of valuable dining and shopping specials throughout Ashland, especially for Chick-uamegon participants. And be sure to play the Follow the Mural Brick Road Treasure Hunt for a chance to win one of three $500 cash prizes! All in all, it makes for a fabulous weekend getaway for the girls!
