The Bookstore at Fitger's: Chris Monroe book signing

The Bookstore at Fitger's is hosting Chris Monroe for a book signing celebrating Chris' illustrations in the recently released Trash Mountain by Jane Yolen. Chris will be at The Bookstore At Fitger's signing books from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11. The event is free. Copies of Trash Mountain as well as Chris' other titles will be available for purchase. Chris  is the author and illustrator of numerous picture books, including the Monkey with a Tool Belt series, Sneaky Sheep, Cookie, the Walker and Bug on a Bike. Trash Mountain is a charming yet powerful story that follows a young squirrel who finds himself alone in the world when his parents are suddenly killed. Jane Yolen has crafted a compelling array of characters, including young Nutley, wise Larie and loyal Naw. The age-old battle between the grey squirrels and the reds is captivating and young readers will also detect subtle themes concerning species diversity and evolution.
