CURT BROWN 1918 FIRE PROGRAM AT CLOQUET MUSEUM
The Carlton County Historical Society welcomes author Curt Brown, author of "Minnesota 1918: When Flu, Fire, and War Ravaged the State", to present a program at its museum in Cloquet on Sunday, October 14, at 1 p.m.
Brown, a reporter for more than 30 years for newspapers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Fergus Falls, currently writes a popular weekly Minnesota history column for the Minneapolis Star Tribune from his home near Durango, Colorado. He was named Minnesota Journalist of the Year in 2013 and has authored several local history books.
"Minnesota 1918" was published by the Minnesota Historical Society earlier this year in recognition of the triple tragedy that affected our area one hundred years ago this year.
After Brown's presentation, autographed copies of his book will be available for sale, and refreshments will be served. Regular admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information contact the museum at 218-879-1938.
