Darren Thompson & Friends: Free Family Matinée

Native American flutist Darren Thompson, Ojibwe from the Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, performs and tells the history of this iconic and ancient instrument. He is joined by guest Laughing Fox from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and violinist Aleah Eagleboy, Oglala Lakota from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Dancer Michelle Reed, Lac Du Flambeau Ojibwe, joins with members of her Woodland Sky Dance Troupe. A special appearance by magician Reuben Fast Horse, Hunkpapa Lakota, who will talk about the importance of magic and illusion in Native Culture and perform some mystifying tricks.
