Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum’s 40th Anniversary Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Ceremony marks the loss of the Fitz on Nov. 10, 1975, near Whitefish Point. The memorial starts at 7 p.m. in the Shipwreck Museum Main Gallery Building and includes music, reflections and Call to the Last Watch Ceremony when the bell is tolled 29 times for each crew member, plus a 30th time for all mariners lost on the Great Lakes. Maritime author-historian Frederick Stonehouse will speak. The public is invited to attend and view a televised “live feed” showing of the ceremony.
