The Carlton County Historical Society hosts the July Friday Movies at the Museum on Friday, July 25 at 1 p.m. at its museum at 406 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet.
This month features two home movies from the museum's collection about Carlton County Dairy Days. The first is the first Dairy Days held in 1952 in Cloquet, and the second is the 1961 Dairy Days held in Pine City. You will see the 4-H students groom their cows for the competition, the awards ceremony, the Dairy Princess crowned by Princess Kay of the Milky Way and the concluding banquet.
Popcorn and lemonade will be served and a door prize drawing will be held during intermission. Regular museum admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, children under 5 and CCHS members admitted free. Active military personnel and their families are admitted free of charge at the museum through Labor Day. The CCHS museum is handicapped accessible. Call 218-879-1938 for questions.
