Garden Talks 2013: "Creating a Rain Garden in Your Yard"
to
Fairlawn Mansion 906 E. 2nd, Superior, Wisconsin 54880
Garden Talks Winter Series 2013 presents "Creating a Rain Garden in Your Yard" with Sue O' Halloran of the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve. Rain gardens can be used successfully in residential yards to reduce storm-water runoff. These shallow depressions capture and absorb water and then allow it to absorb slowly back into the soil as it does in nature. Rain gardens are not only good for the environment, but they can add interest and wildlife to your landscape. This is one of six in the Garden Talks Winter Series at Fairlawn Mansion & Museum. Seating is limited, and sessions often sell out.The cost is $15 (or $40 to attend three), with all proceeds going to the Gardens of Fairlawn. To register, call 715-394-5712.
