The 38th Annual Grandma’s Marathon is a 26.2-mile race on scenic Old Highway 61 along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior, from just outside of Two Harbors to Duluth’s Canal Park. Other activities include the Essentia Health Fitness and Health Expo, the Michelina’s All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner and the William A. Irvin 5K. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon at 6:30 a.m. covers 13.1 miles on the last half of the Grandma's Marathon course. The marathon itself starts at 7:30 a.m. The Whipper Snapper Races for Kids is June 20 at 2 p.m., a free event at Bayfront Festival Park in which everyone's a winner. Live music is showcased during Grandma's Marathon weekend under the Big Top Tent in Canal Park. Performances under the Big Top Tent on Saturday afternoon are open for all ages and are free, with the groups Rage N Country, PopROCKS and Rhino.
