Hartley’s Butterfly Garden
to
Hartley Nature Center 3001 Woodland Avenue , Duluth, Minnesota 55803
The big garden at Hartley Nature Center is in full bloom. More than 60 monarch eggs were collected on common milkweed out of the Butterfly Garden throughout spring and summer. Now more than 50 of them have grown up and emerged as lovely monarch butterflies and have been set free in the garden. The public is invited to come and see them. Hartley also is hosting a volunteer project in the gardens two Wednesdays per month. The evenings will be spent in either the Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden or Water Garden weeding, labeling plants, spreading mulch or planting new baby plants. Come to see what's blooming in the gardens, learn something new and get to know your fellow Hartley supporters and enjoy this community-supported nature center. All ages are invited (kids please be accompanied by an adult). No experience necessary.
