Hartley Nature Center's Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe

Hartley Nature Center celebrates the season with a party, its 8th annual Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. This event celebrates the cold weather season with a chance to enjoy all it gives us: silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park. Regardless of the snowpack, fun seekers will have the chance to join naturalist-led snowshoe hikes, ski a luminary-lined Hartley cross-country trail, enjoy a light taco salad dinner served from 5 to 6:30 p.m., ice skate on Hartley Pond, visit a winter campsite, enjoy a locally made brew and of course sip warm drinks while roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. The whole family is welcome, or make it a date night. Because this event has gotten so popular and there's limited space, it's important to pre-register.
