Hygge Week in Grand Marais

Grand Marais is launching Hygge Week, Feb. 9-15. Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) is the Danish ritual of embracing life’s simple pleasures. In the Grand Marais area, visitors can enjoy dogsledding, stargazing, fireside gatherings, cross-country skiing and the local events to celebrate North Shore winters. Among the planned events are: a book group at Drury Lane Books, 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday; Trollbeads Valentine's Day Party at Sivertson Gallery, 5 to 7 p.m. Friday; brewery tour at 11 a.m. at Voyageur Brewing, which also will have a Mukluk Ball the same day from 5 to 7 p.m.; and all day Sunday is the Pincushion Mountain Family Ski Festival.
