The Finnish folk band JPP is on its 30th anniversary Midwest tour and will be at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth September 17 at 7 p.m. The name JPP stands for Järvelän pikkupelimannit (“Little Folk Musicians of Järvelä”). The band formed in 1982 in the fiddling capital of Finland, Kaustinen, and has recorded nine albums. The lineup is: Timo Alakotila - harmonium, Antti Järvelä - double bass, and Arto Järvelä, Mauno Järvelä, Matti Mäkelä and Tommi Pyykönen - fiddles. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
