Celebrate Lake Superior Day July 15 with two events: free talks at the Visitor Center at the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park hosted by Friends of the Porkies. At 1:30 p.m. Traci Lynn Martin talks about paddling around the three largest lakes in North America. At 3:00 p.m. Michigan Technological University Professor Nancy Langston will present "Sustaining Lake Superior,” a program that describes Superior’s recovery after logging and mining. In the evening, there will be a concert by the Maple Sugar Folk, the Mud Creek Warblers and The Saucy Rovers, who will perform at the Ontonagon Theatre of the Performing Arts beginning at 7 p.m. For the concert, tickets are available at the door: $5 for adults; children are free. Bring a friend and join the good-time musical celebration of our big neighbor to the north: Lake Superior!
