Michigan Iron Industry Museum will host White Water, one of northern Michigan’s most popular recording groups, in concert at the museum’s annual open house, Sunday, May 17. White Water performances are scheduled at 1 and 2:30 p.m. and the open house runs from noon to 4 p.m. The Michigan Iron Industry Museum is in Negaunee Township, on U.S. 41 East, 1 mile west of M-35. Bette and Dean Premo have hosted the popular Second Sunday Folk Dance series near Crystal Falls, Michigan, since 1985. Their latest project, “Beethoven and Banjos,” is a collaboration of traditional and classical music featuring world-class musicians in a weeklong residency in the Upper Peninsula. The open house and concert mark the start of a summerlong series of family programs and events at the museum. Light refreshments will be served; seating is limited; and admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The Michigan Iron Industry Museum is one of 11 nationally accredited museums administered by the Michigan Historical Center, an agency within the DNR. It overlooks the site of the Carp River Forge, a pioneer industrial site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
