Lake Superior Binational Forum presents "Mysteries of Lake Superior, from Top to Bottom," a public meeting Friday, March 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Barker's Island Inn, Superior. A separate arts reception, "Lake Superior, Mysteries, and the Arts," starts at 5:30 p.m. The all-day meeting offers presentations by regional experts, artists, adventurers, business owners, scientists, Native Americans and others who are exploring some of the mysterious or unknown aspects of the Lake Superior basin that many people might not know about. Presentations will highlight a range of topics, from cutting-edge research (Where are robots collecting data in places unreachable by people?) to fun topics (Are surfers really riding the lake's superior waves?). Throughout the morning and afternoon, 25 concurrent sessions about mysterious findings from above the lake, on the water, in the water, on the lake bottom and around the lake will be offered. More than 15 regional groups and agencies will offer displays about a variety of lake issues and programs. The full agenda is at www.superiorforum.org. An open public comment period starts at 4:30 p.m., and anyone is welcome to comment on issues related to Lake Superior. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the Binational Forum will co-sponsor a 90-minute arts reception called "Mystery, Art and Lake Superior" to celebrate the uniqueness of life around the lake as interpreted through visual and written arts. This event is free and light refreshments will be served. The full agenda is on the Forum's website, superiorforum.org.
