North End Classic

The North End Classic is a 12.5- and 25-kilometre cross-country ski race Feb. 9, from the Birkie Trail Powerline near Randysek Road to the North End Trailhead, Cable, Wisconsin. The race uses classical technique. Awards go to the top three male and female finishers overall and in age class. The North End Ski Club-sponsored event uses portions of the Kortelopet Race course and is a Kortelopet qualifier. There are also .5K, 1K and 2K Cookie Classic Kids' Races. Also included are the post-race meal and random drawings for prizes for participants in the 12.5K and 25K events, and a special premium to the first 200 registrants. Fees are $35 through Feb.1, $40 until Feb. 11 and $45 on race day. The youth rate (under 18) is $20 in advance or $25 on race day. The Cookie Classic is free.
