Carlton County Historical Society 406 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, Minnesota 55720
The Carlton County Historical Society presents Movies at the Museum on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 1 p.m. at its museum in Cloquet.
The program features a movie and a slide show, both about the historic Northwest Paper Company plant in Cloquet. First we will view an 8 millimeter color silent movie, recently digitized from the museum's collection, showing employees at work at the paper mill in the 1940s. Look for the movie's introduction with the color image of the company's logo, the Mountie. The second part of the program is a slide show with historic images of the plant through the years. This program is part of the museum's current exhibit "Wood City Smokestacks", including the histories of Cloquet's wood products industries, such as the Northwest Paper Company.
During the program, popcorn and punch will be available and a door prize drawing will be held during intermission. Regular admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible.
