The Minnesota Ballet presents its newly pre-recorded Northland version of “The Nutcracker,” to be enjoyed by viewers of all ages comfortably in their own homes.
An abbreviated version will be broadcast on CBS 3 locally from
7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 21.
The full production will be available for download ($20) on the Ballet’s website (minnesotaballet.org) on Friday, December 18.
Filmed at Glensheen Mansion and the Train Museum and Great Hall of the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center, this fresh version of the family favorite captures all the joy and spirit of the holiday classic while captivating in new ways.
Choreographed and directed by Artistic Director Karl von Rabenau, the story centers on the young heroine, Clara, who dreams that her beloved wooden nutcracker comes to life. On a holiday trip she encounters fairies, princes, lumberjacks, sweets-makers, and more.
