Potlatch Program on St. Urho's Day
to
Carlton County Historical Society 406 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, Minnesota 55720
The Carlton County Historical Society welcomes Richard Schimenek who will present a program about Potlatch Corporation on Wednesday, March 16, at 1 p.m. at the museum in Cloquet at 406 Cloquet Avenue.
Schimenek, Engineering and Environmental Manager of Potlatch Wood Products Division in Cloquet, will show a Power Point presentation about Potlatch yesterday and today. When Potlatch sold its paper making plant in Cloquet to Sappi, Potlatch remained in the community, continuing its work in forest lands through their office on Arch Street. This program complements the museum's current exhibit, "Wood City Smokestacks," featuring Cloquet's three big wood products industries, including Potlatch.
After the program, the Ode to St. Urho will be recited and St. Urho's Day pulla and grape punch will be served. Wear your green and purple clothing for the festive occasion. Regular admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5 and Carlton County Historical Society members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information call 218-879-1938.
