Purple Night of Hope and Remembrance for Pancreatic Cancer will be November 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benedictine Commons in the Science Building at the College of St. Scholastica. Purple Night of Hope and Remembrance is a gathering of anyone who has been affected by pancreatic cancer. Participants form a community of support, as they share stories and the commitment to fight pancreatic cancer. Individuals gain encouragement and comfort by illuminating purple glow sticks as they hear their loved ones' names read aloud. Registration, socializing and submitting names to be honored or memorialized is from 6 to 7 p.m. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. with an uplifting presentation of TeamHope at Grandma's Marathon 2014, which raised more than $114,000 for pancreatic cancer. This is followed by the lighting ceremony. To submit a name prior to the event, or for more information, contact lavonne.levar@gmail.com.
