Run Like an Animal Zoo Trail & Virtual Run/Walk

Whether you’re quick as a bunny or slow as a desert tortoise, you’ll want to join us for the third annual Run Like an Animal 5k run/walk at the Lake Superior Zoo. New this year is the virtual participation option. Register as a participant and you’ll have the option of using the course the zoo has mapped out for August 4, or run/walk your own course between July 28 and August 4. Animal costumes are encouraged for all participants. Register at the zoo, print the form online and mail it to the zoo, or register at lszoo.org. Zoo course registration includes post-event refreshments, zoo admission for a day of your choice, race T-shirt and goodie bag. Virtual runners have the option of picking up their items on August 4 or can be charged a $4 shipping & handling fee for mailing the goodie bags and T-shirts. Register by July 28 to guarantee a shirt. Online registration is open until August 3 with same-day registration available August 4. Race packs should be picked up on race day, between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. at Lake Superior Zoo. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 8:45 a.m. Virtual participants register like they would for a normal race, but are able to complete the 5k (walk or run) wherever and whenever they like between the dates of July 28 and August 4.
