Teague holds the quite original distinction of being a young and clever trailblazer in the current roots music revival in Minnesota alongside status as a local legend making primitive, old-school hip-hop as a South Jersey Shore teenager.
Teague's album "The New Folklore" (featuring Nicholas David piano/vocals) was an impressive foray into the art of storytelling in song, garnering four nominations at the 2009 Just Plain Folks Awards in Nashville with "A Good Clean High (off a dirt cheap bottle of wine)" taking home a Best Song Award. Teague also makes up half the foot-stomping roots music outfit Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank alongside his brother Ian Thomas Alexy. Star Tribune called Hobo Nephews' new album "Number One Contender" "easily one of the best Minnesota-made albums of 2013." The Weekly Reader calls Teague “a potential great new American voice. The gift of painting pictures with words is a unique one, and this man is truly blessed.”
