UMD Hosts Death Row Exoneree
to
University of Minnesota Duluth, 90 Bohannon Hall 1207 Ordean Court, Duluth, Minnesota 55812
On Tuesday, April 11, the UMD Criminology Club will host Nathson Fields in Bohannon 90 at 7 p.m. on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. Mr. Fields will discuss his experiences of being wrongly convicted of a double murder and spending 18 years in prison (12 of them on death row) until his conviction was overturned. This free event is open to the public.
In 2016, Mr. Fields was awarded a large settlement after it was proven that the judge who had convicted him had taken bribes.
Mr. Fields currently serves as the Board Chair for Witness to Innocence (www.witnesstoinnocence.org), an organization dedicated to empowering death row exonerees and creating awareness about wrongful capital convictions and the aftermath for the exonerated.
