Veterans’ Memorial Hall Fundraiser Dinner will be March 27, starting at 5 p.m. and include dinner and speakers at the American Legion Post 71, 5814 Grand Ave., Duluth. Speakers will be JoAnne Coombe, executive director of the St. Louis County Historical Society, with an overview of the Veterans’ Memorial Hall Program, including its mission, history, current activities and the future of the program. Retired Command Sergeant Major John Werner will show a slide presentation and discuss the details that the government did not share about Afghanistan. Learn about the Karzai meetings, Karzai brother interactions, the major engineering projects, the people, the international players, how our money was spent and what resources were exploited. The cost is $15 (only 200 tickets available) and the dinner includes pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce and dinner roll.
