War of 1812 Bicentennial Salute 2013

Fort William Historical Park presents The War of 1812 Bicentennial Salute 2013 on August 10 and 11. Fort William will reverberate with the thunder of cannon and crack of muskets as it commemorates this milestone in Canada's history. The event includes battle reenactments, military drills, dramas and demonstrations. Youngsters will get "enlisted" by the North West Company. Learn about the role of the North West Company in the war and how the fur trade companies were caught in the crossfire. The daily life of the rank-and-file soldier is highlighted.
