The top item on Minnesota Monthly’s Ultimate MN Bucket List? Hike around Lake Superior, a feat accomplished (and chronicled in a book we published last year) by naturalists Mike Link and Kate Crowley. Mike penned a sidebar about the experience for the feature.

Rip Current
Researchers at Michigan Tech and the National Weather Service hope they’ll soon be able to predict rip currents on the Great Lakes, reports NBC25. Rip currents “have claimed dozens of lives in recent years,” according to the story.
