Portrails of a Place: Workers of Northland

Northland College 1411 Ellis Ave., Ashland, Wisconsin 54806
Northland College Art and Ceramics Instructor Lauren Duffy will present her solo show, “Portraits of a Place: Workers of Northland,” in the Dexter Library April 3 through April 24. There will be a reception Wednesday, April 12, 5-7 p.m. with an artist talk at 6 p.m.
For this exhibition, Duffy asked Northland College staff and faculty to submit a description of something they love. Some 25 people responded. And from those descriptions, she created ceramics pieces.
Starting midway through the opening reception on April 12, each object will go home with the person it represents. Left behind will be the original description, a selfie of the individual with their piece and a handwritten response.
Sponsored by the A.D. & Mary Elizabeth Anderson Hulings Distinguished Chair in the Humanities, the event is free and open to the public.
