19th Annual Lake Superior Photo Contest
These winning images are true examples of "lake effect." Each reflects how the Big Lake and north woods influence what we see, feel and do.
For 19 years, we've invited area residents and visitors from around the world to enter the Lake Superior Photo Contest. We never quite know what we'll get; the one constant is how hard it is for our judges to choose. Even after 35 years of publishing Lake Superior Magazine, we're still surprised and delighted by the images our readers send.
In 2013, we received more than 1,450 images, submitted by 270 photographers who hail from 15 states or provinces.
The Grand Prize package features $200, a 2014 Lake Superior wall calendar, a 2014 Duluth wall calendar and a one-year subscription to Lake Superior Magazine. First Place recipients receive a magazine subscription, a Lake Superior wall calendar and a mini calendar, while Second Place winners get a subscription and a mini Lake Superior calendar. All winners, including honorable mentions and finalists, get an award certificate.
