Fort William Historical Park in Thunder Bay hosts the Voyageur Winter Carnival 2017, a weekend of family activities such as the giant snow maze, tubing and sliding hills, skating, winter games, carnival games and contests, horse-drawn wagon rides, live indoor and outdoor entertainment, and new this year – hovercraft rides. The new feature this year: hovercraft rides (which require tickets along with carnival admission fee). At the carnival, you can visit the Canadian Corps of Voyageur (volunteer group) to fire a musket for a $2 donation. Other options are fat-tire bike rides, snowshoeing (equipment provided), visiting historic buildings, trying winter golf with snow sculptures, and curling.
