Bird Walk in Bayfield
to
Bayfield Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Bureau 42 S. Broad St., Bayfield, Wisconsin 54814
Bayfield has recently joined the ranks of Bird City communities in the state of Wisconsin. Chequamegon Audubon will help celebrate this event with a bird walk in Bayfield to mark the 21st anniversary of International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD). International Migratory Bird Day is the only international education program that highlights and celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Join Neil Howk, president of Chequamegon Audubon, for a bird walk on Bayfield's Brownstone Trail. The walk will begin at the trailhead near the south end of Third Street. You will walk along the lake past the outskirts of town and into the woods south of Bayfield for about two hours looking and listening for the birds that have recently returned from their wintering grounds. BYOB (bring your own binoculars).
The free event is open to the public.
