Black Ash Basket Making Workshop

Making a basket from a tree is not magic, but it seems like it. In this class we'll pound on a black ash log with heavy mallets, separating each year's growth from the tree and turning it into flexible but strong weaving material. Each person will then weave their own basket to take home, big enough for berry picking in the months to come, but small enough to finish in one eight-hour day.
